Paid on X
The Nigerian Guide to Original Content Rewards
X retired Creator Revenue Sharing on 7 September 2026. Original Content Rewards is what replaced it. This book is the deep guide for Nigerian creators: eligibility, what "original" actually means, how Stripe payouts reach a Nigerian bank, how to spot fake earnings screenshots, what content earns, clipping risks, and a Premium break-even worked in naira.

📅 Facts as of 15 October 2026. Every eligibility rule, payout rule and country list in this book was checked against X's own Help Center (read via the Wayback Machine capture of https://help.x.com/en/using-x/original-content-rewards), X's Original Content Rewards Program Terms (legal.x.com, Effective: 7 August 2026) and X's About X Premium Help page (for Nigeria pricing). Where the live Help Center blocked our direct check, we used the archived official page and mark it ✅ Official (archived Help). Where we could only find secondary reports, we mark Unverified or 🔍 Secondary. X changes programmes without much notice. Helsaverse reviews this book every quarter. Read this first: disclaimers
This book is education, not a promise of income. Every naira and dollar figure is illustrative: a worked example showing how the maths runs, not what you'll earn. X does not publish a payout rate for Nigeria. Meeting the eligibility thresholds does not guarantee admission; X says so in its own Help page. Approval, payout amounts and continued eligibility are at X's discretion under its Terms.
This book is not legal, tax or financial advice. Tax templates and clauses are educational samples marked "Template: have a lawyer and a tax professional review before use." Confirm tax with a tax professional. Banking questions go to your bank.
No affiliation. Helsaverse isn't affiliated with or paid by X Corp., Stripe or any company named. Names identify products only.
Payments and this book. Helsaverse sells this book through Flutterwave, in naira. This book never presents crypto, betting, gift-card trading, FX trading, "task" apps, MLM or "investment" schemes as a way to earn, and never teaches foreign-account, VPN or borrowed-identity workarounds.
Where this sits on the shelf. Does It Pay Here? (Chapter 5) is the short overview of X among all platforms. This book is the deep dive. If you also post on YouTube, Facebook or Snapchat, keep Does It Pay Here? beside this one.
How to use this book
Nigerian X is full of confusion right now: "wetin I need to get paid on X", fake "Nigerians cut off on the 30th" screenshots, and payout screenshots nobody can verify. This book answers the real questions in this order:
Check → Qualify → Connect → Create → Stay clean → Record
- Check whether Nigeria is open and what replaced Revenue Sharing (Chapters 1–2).
- Qualify against every eligibility rule, grow the gap, and pass originality (Chapters 2–4).
- Connect payout maths, Premium and Stripe the right way (Chapters 5–7).
- Create content that can earn, without engagement bait or copyright traps (Chapters 8–9).
- Stay clean: continuous eligibility, appeals, scams, and stack real income (Chapters 10–12).
- Record payouts for tax and run the 30-day plan (Chapters 13–14; FAQ in 16).
You'll see six kinds of boxes:
- 📋 Worksheet: fill this in.
- 💬 Script: copy, adapt, send.
- ⚠️ Red flag: a common way creators lose money, accounts or earnings.
- 🧮 Illustrative numbers: a worked example. Not a promise.
- 🔍 Confirm this / Unverified: a point we couldn't confirm from a live official page, or that changes often.
- 🤖 Try this in Talk: a prompt for Talk to Algorithm Father. Club members get more messages and image upload (screenshots of Creator Studio). You don't need Talk to use this book.
Who this book is for
- You already post on X (or you're ready to), and you keep seeing OCR / monetisation posts.
- You're near the thresholds, or you're deciding whether Premium is worth it in naira.
- You've been offered an "unlock", a monetised account, or a clipping gig and want the rules before you say yes.
- You want Stripe → Nigerian bank explained without tech folklore.
Who it's not for
- Anyone looking for a guaranteed ₦ / month from X — that number doesn't exist in X's public docs.
- Anyone hoping this book will teach foreign-account or VPN tricks — it won't.
- Complete beginners who have never posted: skim Chapters 1 and 7, then go build 90 days of original posts before you obsess over Studio.

Part One: What changed and who gets in
Chapter 1: Revenue Sharing is dead. OCR is the programme.
The timeline (✅ Official, archived Help)
From X's Original Content Rewards Help page:
- 7 August 2026: X stopped accepting new enrollments into Creator Revenue Sharing.
- Existing Revenue Sharing members kept earning through 7 September 2026, with three final payouts (around 14 Aug, 28 Aug, and a final payout for earnings up to 7 Sep expected around 11 Sep).
- 8 September 2026: X began rolling out access for existing Revenue Sharing members to apply for Original Content Rewards.
- Anyone whose monetisation was paused for a prior policy violation was not eligible to enrol in OCR at that time.
The legal terms are titled Original Content Rewards Program Terms, Effective: 7 August 2026 (✅ Official, legal.x.com).
What OCR pays for
"Eligible creators earn payouts based on qualified impressions generated by their original content. Payouts are issued every two weeks as long as your account and content continue to meet the program's requirements." — X Help, Original Content Rewards ✅
So three ideas matter for the rest of this book:
- Original content (Chapter 4).
- Qualified impressions (Chapter 5) — not raw views, not reply views, not boosted views.
- Every two weeks, with a $30 minimum before money moves (Chapter 5).
Is it open in Nigeria?
Yes. X's Help page lists Nigeria in the country-availability list for Original Content Rewards. ✅ Official (archived Help). The Terms also require you to "be in a supported country". ✅
⚠️ Red flag: "Nigerians cut off on the 30th." Fake deadline screenshots circulate whenever X changes a programme. Check Creator Studio → Original Content Rewards and the Help page, not a random image. Chapter 11 shows how to spot fakes.
🤖 Try this in Talk. "Explain the difference between X Creator Revenue Sharing and Original Content Rewards in plain English for a Nigerian creator who last checked X monetisation in mid-2026."
✅ Do this now. Open Creator Studio → Original Content Rewards. Screenshot the status screen (followers, impressions, Premium, payout). That screenshot is your baseline for the rest of this book.
What to open in Creator Studio today (5 minutes)
- Go to Creator Studio → Original Content Rewards (wording may say Monetization / Partner depending on rollout — Unverified exact menu label on every account).
- Screenshot the eligibility checklist (followers, impressions, Premium status).
- Note any Apply, In review, Eligible, Not eligible, or Suspended state.
- If you see Revenue Sharing history, treat it as archive — the programme ended 7 Sep 2026. ✅
- Do not click third-party "Studio mirrors" or Chrome extensions that ask for your X password.
Save the screenshot for Worksheet 2.1 and for Club/Talk if you use them.
